What Is WHIP Calculator For Baseball?
WHIP, which stands for Walks plus Hits per Inning Pitched, is a sabermetric in baseball used to measure a pitcher’s effectiveness at preventing batters from reaching base. A WHIP calculator helps to calculate Walks plus Hits per Inning Pitched by allowing the input of Hits, Walks, and Innings Pitched.

Let’s take a pitcher with these stats:

- Hits (H): 85
- Innings Pitched (IP): 90
Now, let’s plug these into the formula:

What Does This Mean?
A WHIP of 1.11 means that, on average, the pitcher allows about 1.11 base runners per inning. Lower WHIP is better because it means fewer batters are reaching base. A WHIP around 1.00 is awesome, while anything over 1.30 might need some work.
